Oyster knife
An oyster knife is used to pry open an oyster shell correctly without damaging the oyster or the blade used.
Palette knife
A palette knife is used as a baking accessory, for mixing, scraping and applying icing. It can also be used to transfer pastries and cakes when plating.
Peelers
Peelers are available in a variety of types
Lancashire peeler: traditional peeler most used to peel potatoes.
Julienne: creates uniform thin long strips.
Rex peeler: our most popular peeler, the Victorinox rex peeler comes with either a metal or plastic handle. The straight movable blade allows for even strips and ease peeling awkwardly shaped veg.
Tweezers
Primarily used for plating and garnishing, tweezers are extremely multi-faceted, used for delicate tasks such as flipping, transferring, and for removing small unwanted blemishes such as eggshell or bones from food.
Scissors
The Victorinox scissors is a standard kitchen scissors, whereas the Wushtof scissors come apart for easy cleaning and also have a nutcracker in the middle.
Microplane
A handheld grater with a multitude of uses, such as grating ginger and chocolate, and zesting lemons.
Zester
Most often known for zesting lemons, a zester can be used on the rind of any citrus fruit, for cocktails, garnishes and baked goods.
Canale Cutter
Used to create long strips of citrus peel.
Stones and steels
There are several different ways to sharpen your knives. Stones and steels are the most commonly used sharpening tools.
Stones come in various grit level. The lower the level of grit, the coarser the stone is. For extremely blunt knives, it is recommended you start on a low grit and work up to higher grits. For knives that just require a quick freshen up, a higher grit should suffice.
Steels are primarily used to hone a knife. It smooths out the rough edge after sharpening on a stone. It can also be used to bring back the edge after using your knife.
We also sell a Victorinox handheld sharpener. It is easy to use as it requires the individual to run the knife through one way until it is sharp.
Fish slice and spatulas
Fish slices are slotted to allow excess oil to drain off, spatulas are tilted and solid, to turn food in a pan.
Carving fork
Primarily used to hold the joint of meat in place when carving, it can also used to carve larger fruit and veg such as a pineapple. Our own brand Rikou knife comes with a blade guard to protect you when carving.
Blade guards
Blade guards are designed to safety store and transport knives, keeping the blade covered.
Thermometers
Used to check the temperature of food when cooking, such as meat or caramel to ensure it is being prepared at the right temperature.

Crumber
A crumber is used to gather and clean crumbs from surfaces.
